FOUND A DOG

1
Approach Safely
If circumstances allow, approach the animal calmly. Sit or kneel on the ground and let the dog or cat come to you at their own pace. Avoid chasing or cornering them, as this can cause fear or aggression.
2
Check for Identification
Look for a collar or tag with contact information. If you find one, call and text the listed number to let the owner know their pet has been found.
3
Scan for a Microchip
If there’s no visible ID, take the animal to a nearby veterinarian, animal shelter, or pet supply store such as PetSmart to have them scanned for a microchip.
-
If a chip is found, the facility may either contact the microchip company directly or provide you with the chip number and manufacturer.
-
If you are given the chip information, call the company to report the found animal. They will attempt to contact the registered owner.
4
Contact Local Rescources
If you’ve completed all the steps above and have not been able to locate the owner, you may reach out to 3TR for further guidance.
Please note: All local shelters and rescues are currently operating at or beyond capacity and submitting a found animal form does not guarantee we will be able to assist.
Thank you for taking the time to help a lost pet — your compassion makes a real difference.
What to Do If You Need to Surrender Your Pet
We understand that life circumstances can change, and sometimes rehoming a pet becomes necessary. Our team is here to offer compassion, guidance, and support throughout the process.
To request a surrender or rehome, please complete our Surrender/Rehome Your Dog Form using the link below. Once submitted, a member of our team will review your request and contact you with next steps.
Please note: Submitting a form does not guarantee acceptance into our program, as space and resources are limited. However, we will do our best to assist or help provide alternative options to ensure your pet’s safety and wellbeing.
If your pet is accepted into our program, a donation toward their care is greatly appreciated.
